In line with the city government's proactive stance in dealing with calamities and other emergencies, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) chaired by Mayor Benjamin Magalong conducted a tabletop exercise workshop, September 14 to 16, to test and update the Summer Capital's emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases (EREID) contingency plan that was formulated earlier.
Facilitated by the CDRRM Office under Antonette Anaban, the three-day activity was participated by CDRRMC members composed of representatives from various government offices, line agencies, utilities, communication groups, and more.
Samples of EREID include the ongoing Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) and its variants.
Similar three-day updating workshops were conducted on the city's earthquake contingency plan last August and its hydrometeorological hazards (typhoons, etc.) plan on September 7 to 9.

Facilitated by the CDRRM Office under Antonette Anaban, the three-day activity was participated by CDRRMC members composed of representatives from various government offices, line agencies, utilities, communication groups, and more.
Hydrometeorological hazards are caused by extreme meteorological and climate events, such as floods, droughts, hurricanes/typhoons, tornadoes, landslides, or mudslides.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) conducted a tabletop exercise workshop to test and update the Summer Capital's earthquake contingency plan on August 24 to 26 facilitated by the CDRRM Office under Antonette Anaban.
The three-day activity was participated by CDRRMC members composed of representatives from various government offices, line agencies, utilities, communication groups, and more.
The workshop included a presentation of the city's contingency plan for earthquake as of February, this year; identification of gaps, issues and challenges; presentation, consolidation and synthesis of outputs; updating thru revisions of the city's earthquake contingency plan; ways forward; and finally, agreements.

The Office of Civil Defense - CAR through its Capacity Building and Training Section, provides technical assistance to the Baguio City DRRM Office as member of the Exercise Planning Team in the crafting of a tabletop exercise plan to test the Earthquake Contingency Plan of Baguio City.
The Contingency Plan for Earthquake of Baguio City aims to provide effective, efficient and immediate response mechanism in the event of a disaster triggered by an earthquake in the City of Baguio. These response actions shall help to protect lives, properties and the environment, and provide immediate needs of the affected communities and vulnerable sectors.
Testing the Contingency Plan for Earthquake will reinforce the knowledge of the response cluster members on their roles, tasks, and on the inter-operability mechanisms specified in the contingency plan.
